Advanced Machine Solutions LLC dba Thomas Manufacturing
Established in 1989, Thomas Manufacturing began building a reputation for quality, heavy duty equipment utilized by various industries.
Determination and perseverance seem appropriate to describe the founders of Thomas Manufacturing. With a background in farming and running an agricultural machinery dealership, Francis and Susan Thomas were familiar with what it took to run a company and equipment.
In the early years, machines were built to meet the needs of local woodworking and printing manufacturers with only a handful of employees. Attending trade shows to connect with dealers and customers and advertising in major trade publications grew the business as well as the reputation for “Thomas Tough” equipment.
By the early 2000’s, the workforce and demand for equipment being produced were at capacity for the original manufacturing facility. Most of the equipment manufactured focused on roller conveyors customized to wood processing
machines. Fast forward a decade and the need for material handling systems started coming to the forefront with ever-evolving improvements in technology, mechanical design and automation. Thomas was up to the task recognizing customers’ needs and building customized equipment to fit the application.
In 2013, the first generation of Packman made its debut in our lineup of equipment as well as the air table. In the following few years, additional types of equipment for flipping and rotating parts such as the barrel turner, flooring inverter and ‘Lil big flip became standard equipment.
Upon the retirement of the founders in 2020, two Thomas Manufacturing engineers became partners to run the business under a new name, Advanced Machine Solutions, LLC dba Thomas Mfg. With fresh ideas, the know-how to push the envelope into innovation, and a resolution to grow the capabilities of the business, in-house laser cutting services and control panel building have led to different roads of success outside of the typical material handling industry.
“Solutions through creative innovation” was started by the founders but is still relevant to the company’s cause now. Today’s work family is a makeup of the partners, second and third generations of the founding members as well as fathers and sons working alongside each other to achieve the goal of quality built efficient machines lasting beyond standard expectations.
